Approach
Needs Assessment and Planning
The first step involves determining the requirements for the drinking water supply system. This includes assessing consumption points, water demand, and structural conditions. A detailed plan is created for the pipe routing, material selection, and sizing in compliance with applicable regulations and hygiene standards, such as DIN 1988. Potential challenges, such as complex routing or accessibility issues, are identified, and solutions are developed.
Material Procurement and Logistics
Based on the planning, all necessary materials, such as pipes, fittings, connectors, and tools, are procured. High-quality and hygienically safe materials are prioritized. A precise logistics plan ensures that the materials are available on-site in the correct sequence and on time to avoid delays.
Pipe Routing
The pipes are laid professionally according to the plan specifications. Special attention is given to maintaining minimum distances from other utility lines (e.g., electrical or wastewater) and ensuring thermal separation to uphold hygiene standards. The pipes are installed step by step, securely fastened, and prepared for subsequent connections.
Installation
Following pipe routing, the pipes are equipped with fittings, valves, and connection points. This includes the installation of water meters, backflow preventers, and filters if required. All connections are carefully sealed, and the functionality of individual components is verified.
Pressure Testing and Flushing
Before commissioning, a comprehensive pressure test is performed to ensure the system's integrity and durability. Subsequently, the pipes are thoroughly flushed to remove any contaminants or residues from the installation process. A hygienic initial filling is conducted if necessary.
Acceptance and Documentation
Finally, the system is handed over to the client. During this process, all pipes and components are tested for proper functionality. A detailed documentation package, including plans, test protocols, and maintenance instructions, is provided to the client. The acceptance process ensures that the system complies with legal requirements and standards, providing a sustainable and safe drinking water supply.
